In this post, we will discuss the "Booking Failed" error that can occur in the final stage of the appointment booking process at the Italian Consulate through the Prenotami system.
You may have already encountered this issue: You rush to do everything right, quickly fill out the form fields, type in the OTP code quickly, click on the day and time, and at the moment of confirming the booking, this error appears: "booking failed".
This is a system error and usually means that the slots ran out while you were choosing the day and time of the appointment, but sometimes you may receive this error for other reasons.
In our years of experience, we have identified 2 main causes of this problem:
Automatic translator:
Check if your browser has the automatic translation option enabled and if it is, disable it. In some cases, this translation can interfere with data that should not be translated and influence the data sent from one page to another until the moment of booking confirmation.
Browser extensions:
Some browser extensions can unduly modify the content of the site to the point of preventing booking. Turn off all extensions before attempting to book.
In Chrome/Edge, go to Settings (3 dots), click on Extensions, and then on Manage Extensions. Check which extensions are installed and disable them if necessary.
These actions should solve 90% of the occurrences of this error, but if the problem persists, send an email to the consulate indicating the service with a screenshot of the error.
As we have already said, most of the time you will see this error due to the exhaustion of slots, but perform the actions above to ensure that you are not wasting time trying to book with a setup that may be hindering you in this process.
